Friday Findings: The Loft Life

Yesterday in class, one of my teachers asked us all a very interesting question that was extremely hard for me to answer: What one product do you wish you could have?

Me? You mean what would I want if I could ask a Genie for one product in the world? I was speechless. I finally answered and said anything by Dries Van Noten, but after I thought about it for a little, I realized what it was that I'd really love.

A loft.

I mean who doesn't want to live in a exposed brick, hip, unique loft? Whether it be in New York City or in Paris. So here is an ode to a dream maybe one day come true. Which loft do you like best?

Friday Findings: Oscar Wilde the Great

My boy Oscar Wilde has done it again. His way with words amazes me and yet he's so straightforward, so obvious. He says exactly what we all feel, but can't find words for. And this quote is proof that it was a talent that was innate, not learned.

Happy Friday, friends. Have a warm, care-free weekend with lots of sunshine (you hear that, San Francisco?) and loving company. And remember, you're anything but ordinary.

Coming Alive

Pure: adjective \ˈpyr\
a: free from harshness or roughness and being in tune

Vanilla: noun \və-ˈni-lə, -ˈne-\
a: a commercially important extract of the vanilla bean that is used especially as a flavoring.

Pure Vanilla. Pure and Vanilla. What exactly does that mean? And how do they relate to design whether it's food, fashion, or home interior? Well, the pure aspect of life stands for refined taste, humbling attitudes and grounded ideas. But all simplistic beginnings need bold taste, fun flavor and exciting possibilities. That's where vanilla comes in. Good ol' vanilla. It's not as bold as chocolate, it's not as sweet as strawberry—but it's just right and takes simple to perfection.

Pure Vanilla is a blog dedicated to everyday simplistic designs, recipes and ideas with a touch of flavor through fashion, food, home decor and adventures galore.  It's all about finding life's sweet imperfections because after all, isn't that what makes life so rewarding?
